I was one of those kids who licked raw cookie dough off the spoon even when my mother warned me not to. "It'll get you sick!" she'd always shout.

Well, I'm an adult now and I've learned that the reason why raw cookie dough is "not safe to eat" is because of the raw eggs in the dough. Did you know that was the reason? Raw eggs aren't too dangerous to eat. They have a small chance of carrying salmonella, but let's not risk it.

I have an Edible Cookie Dough recipe that has no raw eggs and is ridiculously easy to make. You probably have all of the ingredients you need in your kitchen already!

Here's what you need (you can double this recipe to make a larger batch):
1/4 c. sugar
2 tbs. softened butter
1/3 c. flour
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 tbs. milk
*Optional add-ins such as mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, crumbled cookies/candy*

Start by mixing the sugar and softened butter on medium speed until completely combined.

Add flour, salt, vanilla extract, and milk to mixture and mix on low speed for about one minute.

If you have any add-ins, fold them into the dough with a spoon. I used mini chocolate chips.

That's literally all you need to do! It's just as easy as buying a package of pre-made cookie dough, but safer and customized to your liking! I spooned mine into a cute serving bowl and sprinkled a few more chocolate chips on top. You can scoop yours into ice cream cones, add into your ice cream, or simply eat with a spoon.

Have fun with it! Please share your versions with me. I'd love to see how you customized this edible cookie dough.
