Monthly Favorites | July 2021 Edition

Aug 6, 2021

Is it me or are people getting excited for autumn already? At the start of August?? Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely part of said people! I just didn't expect to be in the majority 😂

But let me not knock summer down like that. I will admit that this has been one of the most enjoyable summers I've had in years. Maybe it's because I stopped taking NYC public transportation. Maybe it's because I didn't suffer from excessive sweat (tmi? sorry). Or maybe it's because I had space and time to embrace what's lovely about summer - sitting out back listening to birds chirp, windows down and good tunes on a weekend drive, putting love into a homemade garden. Either way, it's time to say goodbye to one of our summer months and recap on all the lovely things I discovered.

What to expect: Mini (no BS) reviews of products/experiences, affiliate links, and discounts.

And with that, let's get started with July's favorites!

monthly product recommendations favorites must haves 2021
home.
black stone ramen bowlsI'm slowly transitioning to black kitchenware because... do I need to explain? It's sleek, it's unique, it's gorgeous! These ramen bowls at World Market fit all of the above. I use them at least once a week cause you know I love my noodz.

black stone plates | I told you I'm making the switch! Black stoneware is my absolute favorite right now. These plates by Hearth & Hand are not only accessible but they're also beautiful! The uneven edges bring a lot of character. And yes... I got the large plates and various bowl sizes to create a set.

bamboo phone/tablet holderThis $6 Ikea find is super cute for the office space! It's collapsible when you want to pack it away, lightweight, and has a small slot at the bottom to pull your charger cord through. I personally use it for my iPad and it holds the weight.
garden/plants.
local plant nurseries | Shopping local is always a good idea... and that goes for plant shopping, too! Before checking out Home Depot or Lowes, try searching for local plant nurseries in your city/town. If you're lucky, there will be one! Nurseries specialize in plants so you can ensure the staff are taking good care of them before they become yours. Plus, there's so much more variety to select from!
food.
watermelon ripe hack | I saw this on Tik Tok and it worked for me! How to pick a ripe watermelon at the store: Look for yellow patches on the surface. This means the watermelon was sitting out and getting ripe on the vine. Also, very heavy watermelons mean they're full of deliciousness.

trader joe's vegan tzatziki | When I first bought this, the person at check out told me it tastes exactly like real tzatziki. I was very excited to come home and learn that the person was absolutely right. It tastes like real tzatziki... for real.

amazing grass hydrate | I want to be a fan of green juices but the texture is what always, always, always throws me off. I just want something easily drinkable - not a meal or smoothie! These dissolvable tablets solve my problem. Once dissolved, this drink tastes like a subtly sweet and light bubbly! Like a fruity seltzer but not as fizzy.
other things.
reusable face masksYou might still be in the market for face masks... I sure am. I just bought three more! I always go to this Etsy shop because they have great quality face masks with simple colors. I also love the adjustable ear loops and filter pocket so I can wear them over and over again.

early autumn/spooky posts | I mentioned this right at the top and I have to mention it as a favorite because I! Love! Autumn! People are really embracing it early with aesthetic posts and reels and I'm living for it. How much longer till October?

That's all the recs for this month - let me know if you're picking up anything mentioned here! And if you have specific items you'd like me to test/link, feel free to send a message and I'll work that out for you. See you in August!
